Fresh from My Oven

Have I told you that I got a cute mini oven as my birthday present? *thanks, dear bear ;)* As proofs that the oven doesn’t just sit there unused, here you go, some of the results…

Baked Chicken Wings

One day, in a Pakistani shop where I usually buy Indomie here in Trento, I found this mix powder to make Tandoori chicken. The result was fantastic! But still, it was too hot/spicy for my taste. The next experiments, with similar ingredients, I tried to bake chicken wings instead. After few experiments to find the perfect recipe, I finally found it!

6 chicken wings (each is chopped into 3 pieces)
200 gr plain yogurt (half of the big cup)
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp paprika dolce (I found this tasteless paprika powder ^^, so only for the red color)
2 tsp garlic
1 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp paprika/chili pepper
1 tsp black pepper

Mix them all together, then keep them refrigerated for 24 hours. So, on the next day, cover them with oil or melted butter, preheat the oven at 120°C, and bake them for… around 20 minutes. Flip them and bake again for another 10 minutes. Uhmm, I’m not so sure about the timing, ’cause I usually check the wings every 5 minutes :p.

Mac & Cheese

This recipe requires few experiments since I wasn’t sure which Italian cheese I should use *in Indonesia there’s only one cheese for everything… Kraft cheddar! :D*.

2 cups pasta corta (I use pipette rigate a.k.a macaroni)
3 tbsp butter
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
200 ml panna da cucina (or 1 cup of milk, panna is definitely better!)
2 cups grated cheese (fontina or provolone)
1 cup of grated parmesan

Boil pasta, keep aside. Melt butter, add flour, salt, pepper. Stir in the panna/milk, keep on medium heat. Stir in 2 cups of grated cheese until melted. Pour the cheese sauce over the pasta, mix up a bit. Pour 1 cup of parmesan on top. Bake at 120°C for 20-25 minutes.

Wirsing Rouladen

I found this lecker and yummy recipe of wirsing rouladen here. I like it so much! Especially the meat filling, which is so tasty by itself. When I feel lazy to wrap the filling with wirsing, I just fry it into meatballs :D.

I don’t have the picture of the rouladen on my own, but they look exactly like in the picture above :).
