“How can anyone govern a nation that has two hundred and forty-six different kinds of cheese?”
— Charles de Gaulle (1890-1970), French general, president. Quoted in: Newsweek (New York, 1 Oct. 1962).
Yep, France is indeed a country with hundreds types of cheese ^^. According to some articles there are currently around 400 types of cheese. You can just eat different type of cheese for each day in a year ^^;. So… I decided to try each one of them *while I’m still here ;p*, well… not all of them of course, only the recommended ones.
And the first one would be… *drum roll*
Camembert!!!
Nyammm… I love this cheese ^^ This one originally comes from Normandie, northern France. It is named after a village where there is a statue of its creator, Marie Harel.
In 1855 the cheese was presented to Napoleon, introduced as from the village of Camembert. He enjoyed it very much and from that moment Camembert became known everywhere by this name.
Camembert is made from pasteurized cow’s milk. Usually, I enjoy this with bread, or sometimes just the cheese itself. I’ve started to think of it as a snack ^^; *now, less than half remains in only two days*. And after I read this…
The Good News: A small serving of camembert is a good source of Calcium and Phosphorus.
The Bad News: Even a small serving of camembert has high Total Fat, Sodium, Cholesterol and Saturated Fat.
Wooow, fat is everywhere ;p. That makes me want to eat some more, since I want to regain more weight *as a preparation for winter :))*. Besides, I’m kinda miss my old me *like… from a year ago*, I’ve lost around 5 kilos >_<.
Okay then, see you in my next ‘cheese-investigation’… Adios! Cheese!! ^^
bikin ndut ya? ah..I’ll always have excuses for cheese 😛
iya bikin ndut, dan uhmm… kayaknya kalo kebanyakan bikin sakit perut juga *pengalaman semalem* ^^;
eh… bagi-bagi dunk klo bisa bikin gendut. saia juga mauuu ^^
mari kita lihat nanti apakah beneran bikin gendut, kalo iya tak lempar wes ke sana ^^ ciaaat… tangkep…
